In a recent stroll down memory lane (i.e. my old social media accounts), I stumbled on a Fresh Jess Aces Interview that I was honored to do waaay back in 2013. I’m still crying about losing the ring that I was wearing in the photo, it was filled with legit tiny pieces of candy. Come home candy ring!
At the time of the interview, I was running the v.1 of my business, a marketing consulting firm called Detaale. My consultancy eventually became my executive and business coaching practice. Reading the interview brought back so many memories and great reminders of how the business and I have evolved over the last 6 years.
As I read the post and flashbacked to who and where I was in 2013, I realized that while much has changed in the circumstances of my life (heartbreak, divorce, personal growth, professional development, career evolution), my values and who I am at my very core have remained very much the same. Do I still thrive in freedom? Yes! Do I love marketing and entrepreneurship? Absolutely. Do I still love white t-shirts? For. Sure. Will I always love coffee and Classic Rock on a sunny day? YES.
Are you wanting to get to know more of your authentic self and what makes you, you? Journal prompts are one tried-and-true way that we can spend time getting to know ourselves. Could I invite you considering checking out one of my all-time favorite journal prompt authors? Seattle local, Moorea Seal, has a great series of list journal prompts that nurture self-expression and self-development. She recommends that you “Start with a curious spirit and prepare to discover the beauty, joy, creativity, and power that is already inside of you.” How beautiful is that?
Happy self-discovering!
