What are the building blocks that you put in place to create balanced and productive days?
I’m pretty passionate and pretty nerdy when it comes to food, nutrition, and exercise. I love to explore the latest trends in nutrition and can often be found searching for paleo and keto recipes before meal prepping on a Sunday evening. I also have cultivated a lifestyle that includes fitness and exercise as an enjoyable and FUN aspect of my day.
Have you found that nutrition and exercise have an effect on your emotional health? Is that a silly question? Obviously, there is science that tells us that exercise is good for our overall health, but do you have your own data that proves it? I definitely do.
When I eat foods that fuel me, I notice a significant difference in my energy. When I also give myself the freedom to eat foods that are really enjoyable, I feel balanced. The same holds true for exercise, when I move my body most days and do activities that I enjoy, my mood is generally more positive. I also find morning workout days are more productive, more creative and less emotionally reactive. Do you see the same results?
I try to remember with both food and fitness the goal isn’t to “fix” anything that might be affecting moods by moving or eating, it’s about setting ourselves up for success in all aspects of our day to day life. If we take care of our mind and body, we’re putting the building blocks in place for more balanced and productive days in all areas.
When it comes to food and fitness, what’s working for you? Can you make a tiny adjustment today or tomorrow that starts you down a more productive path? Send me an email or PM and let me know what you’re committing to in the next 24 hours and what action you’re going to take (I’m reading every email and I’m here keeping your accountable, I swear!)
