I love morning practices.
In fact, I kind of collect rituals for getting creatively inspired and grounded to start my day. I try to take extra special care of myself and I know the way I start my day, sets my day.
I try and sometimes succeed, to start most days with meditation, 15 – 30 minutes of journaling, and some type of exercise. My schedule is very flexible and I know not everyone has this kind of time in the morning, so here are 3 quick tips for being grounded, present and inspired in the morning.
- Be intentional about the light around you. I LOVE to light candles on dark winter mornings. The snuggly glow of a candle + coffee + my journal really helps to ground my energy as I start the day. Also, yoga or stretching or meditation by candlelight is delicious.
- Pro/Pro (Protein and Produce) before Joe. Even if it’s only a banana and some nut butter or hard boiled egg, please do yourself a favor and try and eat something before your first cup of coffee.
- The 5 Minute Journal. I promise I’m not being paid to sell them. I, and a whole bunch of people I’ve introduced to them, just really love the impact they are having on our lives. More gratitude. More noticing the little things. And it literally takes less than 2 minutes!
How do you set up your mornings? What practices do you have for getting grounded or creatively inspired? Can’t wait to hear!
